As China entered into WTO and welcome the coming
olympic game, the trend of internationalization
and globalization has created a strong motivation
to understand the increasing coming cultural
encounter situation, in its frequency and
intensity. Such cultural encounters have provided
valuable opportunities but also new challenges.
In the striving of improving cross-cultural knowledge and understanding, the topic of Intercultural Competence and Sensitivity becomes an important issue and draws significant attention. Much work has been done in this field from western cultural perspectives, our research program pursuing a better understanding of the intercultural competence and sensitivity of Chinese people from their perspective.
