Perspectives of Intercultural Competence

Regensburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany – organized an international symposium on “Perspectives of Intercultural Competence” to honor the seventieth birthday of Prof. Dr. Alexander Thomas in late November 2009.

Dr. Tjitra was invited to present his research on “Chinese Intercultural Competence and Sensitivity”, and he took the chance to congratulate and meet again with his “Doktorvater” (German word for PhD supervisor) and old colleagues. The two days international symposium was a great success, with an open and constructive discussion on the current issues and trends on the theory of “cultural standard” and “intercultural competence”.
